The Beaches of Salgado (Famalicão) and Nazaré have again been distinguished with the Award “Golden Quality” by the National Association for Nature Conservation (Quercus).
Quercus attributes at the start of each bathing season, this classification of “Beaches with Golden Quality” to the holiday destinations of the country whose bathing waters respect the best results in terms of quality.
The prize is awarded according to criteria established by the entity and based on the official public information provided by the Portuguese Environment Agency.
The goal of Quercus is to highlight the beaches over several years systematically present a bathing water quality or excellent quality (taking into account the classification of legislation), and in that sense, and offer greater reliability in regards the quality of the water.
