Nazaré will be the home of the beach football World Cup “Mundialito” in August

Next August, Nazaré will be the scene of one of the most traditional and well-known beach soccer competitions: the BSWW Mundialito. From August 13 and 15, Viveiro Stadium will host a tournament that any beach soccer fan knows so well.

The Mundialito is the oldest sand soccer championship, and it was up to Nazaré to receive its 23rd edition. Almost uninterrupted since 1994, Mundialito is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious competitions on the Beach Soccer calendar, as well as a regular sporting event in the Portuguese summer, since it was brought to Europe for more than 20 years.

This year, and in the first edition to take place in Nazaré, four top teams will be fighting for the consecration. The hosts, Portugal, Spain, 2012 champion of the competition, Japan and Senegal, African champion, promise spectacular on the field.

The current champion, Portugal, will enter the field betting on their 7th World Cup title at home, maintaining their pursuit of Brazil, which adds 14 Mundialitos. Of the last 10 editions, Brazil won 5.
