The sun shines on a couple of turtle storks on a cliff by the Atlantic Ocean. This is the wild Portugal, far away from large cities, tourism, and big roads. This cliff is next to the walking trail “Fishermans trail” – a trail that some say follow the coastline all the way from Lisbon down to Sagres on the western part of the Algarve coast.
This part of the trail, however, is south of Porto Covo and a bit north of Vila Nova del Molfontes. We can really recommend this part! We stayed in Vila Nova del Milfontes, took a taxi to Porto Covo and walked back. Fantastic!
Porto Covo is on the southwest coast of Portgual, 170 km from Lisbon airport and about the same from the airport in Faro.
