“What an event! It was one of the best we have seen,” said the World Surf League at the end of the race, referring to the conditions of excellence that have come together for this event.
The Fort Road and the cliffs to the beach filled with hundreds of people, who went to Nazaré to watch the athletes’ performance and see an epic swell that took place on a day of off-season temperatures.
For Walter Chicharro, mayor of Nazaré, the registration of the day “confirms that the realization of the event is a good bet of the Municipality in the promotion of Nazaré. We are definitely on the WSL calendar. ”
The realization of this Circuit is part of the strategy of the Municipality to affirm the potential of the sea for the development of the local economy and the county.
“Nazaré has once again made its mark and marked the story of the Big Wave Tour at this start of the World Surfing World Championship with the biggest big wave event ever.”
